This took a little longer than I thought. I figured that Google had surpasses good old Redmond a long time ago. Google has been beating the hell out of Live search(formerly MSN search). But does anyone really use Microsoft.com that much? The only thing that I can think of is that if they included Windows Update or all the Microsoft owned websites. Anyway, way to go Google, just don't become the new Microsoft.
I found this a while ago and decided to share it with those who don't already know. Probably the most interesting Google Maps mashup yet, Goggles lets you fly a 3D biplane. But, you must start at a major city. It even lets you shoot at the things below you. Some things that Goggles leaves to be wanted are 3D building (but that would probably on come from use of Virtual Earth 3D and IE7), a more detailed plane, and for the things you shoot to blow up and not come back. But, then again it is in beta.
Google Blogger Beta went live today in place of the old blogger. This new Blogger is great and all for the very new bloggers but Vox kicks it's ass and so does wordpress for those that host their own blog.
There have been rumors for quite some time now. But now its official! Google has added a Click to Call feature to Google Maps. It works a lot like Jajah, you enter the number of the phone you want to use to call and then click on the call button. Your phone will ring. Then their phone will ring when you pick yours up. It works using Google Talk and Skype technology. But it also has a little bit more VOIP under the hood. This feature is completely free and very useful for someone looking to order or trying to prank call someone without being found out.
Windows Live Local has had this feature for quite a while though...
NOTE:
You can only call businesses with this feature.
Google takes out the competition! Reported by this popular Hebrew blog. They say that the two founders of Israeli web-based excel clone iRows have been hired by Google. This being one of the few web-based excel clones out there. The founders will hold on to the intellectual property of iRowsbut they are closing the site. Currently the other two main web-based spreadsheet applications are NumSum and ZohoSheet.
Lately it seems Google is doing less innovating and more buying.
