iPhone: The revolutionary phone

When they announced the iPhone I was shocked. By two things. One the name and two it actually happened. The name was formally used in a VoIP phone from Cisco. The iPhone is amazing. Go look  at it it is the most amazing phone I have ever seen. It has a multi-touch display so that you can do two things at once with your finger without have to alternate which is on the screen. It also runs Mac OSX, which is amazing. It has an interface that seems to be a cross between OS X, the Wii menu, and the PSP menu. It has support for widgets, which is great. My favorite thing about the iPhone though is that it runs Safari. Thus it show the web page as it would show in safari on your iMac Core 2 Duo!

Windows to Mac

I have been planning my transition to a mac-centered home after using a mac for two weeks cut of from my Linux machine. Just thought Id compare my experience with Mac versus Windows. 


Being cut off from my linux lifestyle at home and Windows at work, I have to say that the Mac experience IS all it is cracked up to be. I really love the "dock" and the simple UI. I also must say that the file browser beats the shit out of Windows File Explorer. I have been using Macbook and I love the simple design. Hardware looks never mattered to me until I started using a Mac and now I will never buy an ugly machine again. 

The software that comes with it blows away anything that comes with a Windows machine. iPhoto and iMovie are wonderful. Although I think the native web browser could use some work it is a decent browser. 

I cant wait for the iTV so that I can connect my new iMac to my TV.

The gaming experience is decent. The amount of games out out there for Mac is very small compared to Windows but Mac has many of the best Windows games. All of the games I regularly play are out for Mac so this is not something for the average person to worry about.

My Mac will very soon replace my Windows machine. And that will be a great day.

Safari could use some work...

I have been running on Safari for a while now. And it is horrible(to an extent). I have run into site after site telling me that safari will not run correctly with it. It is the worst feeling ever to know that even IE beats it(well, that is mostly due to market share :))! My safari experience has sucked so far but here are the pros and cons:


PROS 

- Simple interface-

- Much faser then IE and FF(in some cases)

- Runs well with other mac apps

CONS

- Runs badly with web 2.0 websites

- Has a hard time with (some) sites full of scripts and animations heavy sites

- Not (very) extensible

Conclusion

Safari itself is a decent browser it is jsut not very well supported. Thus , I would reccomend that you download Firefox for Mac.

But I'd still use Safari over IE any day :)
